The Ministry of Energy and Energy Affairs announced yesterday that oil production for the month of August was the highest it has been for the year.Production in August averaged 83,300 barrels of oil per day. This increase was due to increased condensate output from BP's Immortelle and Savonette fields and marginally improved performance from Trinmar. The Ministry said in a statement: "It is critical that the country continue to arrest the decline in oil production that started in 2006.This is necessary to maximise Government revenue from the energy sector in a period of high oil prices."
