Overall market activity resulted from trading in 12 securities of which seven advanced, four declined and one traded firm. Trading activity on the first tier market registered a volume of 218,162 shares crossing the floor of the Exchange valued at $4,128,846.12.
First Citizens Bank Ltd was the volume leader with 90,294 shares changing hands for a value of $3,160,256.11, followed by Jamaica Money Market Brokers Ltd with a volume of 50,000 shares being traded for $27,500. Sagicor Financial Corporation contributed 24,774 shares with a value of $180,504.75, while Trinidad Cement Ltd 16,435 shares valued at $36,171.35.
National Enterprises Ltd enjoyed the day’s largest gain, increasing $0.70 to end the day at $16.82. Conversely, First Citizens Bank Ltd suffered the day’s greatest loss, falling $0.14 to close at $35.00. Clico Investment Fund was the only active security on the mutual fund market, posting a volume of 72,295 shares valued at $1,561,352.60. It advanced by $0.02 to end at $21.60.
