Big gains for RBL shares
Overall market activity resulted from trading in 18 securities of which seven advanced, two declined and nine traded firm. Trading activity on the first tier market registered a volume of 1,063,439 shares crossing the floor of the Exchange valued at $3,933,798.87. Point Lisas Industrial Port Development Corporation Ltd was the volume leader with 373,888 shares changing hands for a value of $1,413,257.76, followed by National Commercial Bank Jamaica Ltd with a volume of 267,850 shares being traded for $316,063.
Jamaica Money Market Brokers Ltd contributed 237,006 shares with a value of $149,313.78, while National Flour Mills Ltd added 100,000 shares valued at $95,000. Republic Bank Ltd enjoyed the day’s largest gain, increasing $0.95 to end the day at $111. Conversely, Clico Investment Fund suffered the day’s greatest loss, falling $0.05 to close at $21.50. Clico Investment Fund was the only active security on the mutual fund market, posting a volume of 1,200 shares valued at $25,800.
