Witco stocks climb to $119
Overall market activity resulted from trading in 12 securities of which three advanced, four declined and five traded firm.
Trading activity on the First Tier Market registered a volume of 304,800 shares crossing the floor of the Exchange valued at $2,225,992.73. Sagicior Financial Corporation was the volume leader with 162,031 shares changing hands for a value of $1,174,564.75, followed by Trinidad Cement Limited with a volume of 85,000 shares being traded for $198,973.20. Scotia Investments Jamaica Limited contributed 30,000 shares with a value of $58,500, while Agostini’s Limited 17,777 shares valued at $315,186.21.
The West Indian Tobacco Company Limited enjoyed the day's largest gain, increasing $0.79 to end the day at $119. Conversely, Republic Bank Limited suffered the day's greatest loss, falling $2.56 to close at $112.02. Clico Investment Fund was the only active security on the Mutual Fund Market, posting a volume of 32,990 shares valued at $709,285. It declined by $0.23 to end at $21.50.
