First Citizens gains, Guardian Holdings loses
Overall market activity resulted from trading in 12 securities of which two advanced, two declined and eight traded firm. Trading activity on the first tier market registered a volume of 723,762 shares crossing the floor of the Exchange valued at $10,412,239.51. One Caribbean Media Ltd was the volume leader with 504,000 shares changing hands for a value of $9,172,800, followed by National Flour Mills Ltd with a volume of 121,000 shares being traded for $114,950.
Scotia Investments Jamaica Ltd contributed 41,096 shares with a value of $80,127.20, while First Citizens Bank Ltd added 15,556 shares valued at $551,915.07. First Citizens Bank Ltd enjoyed the day’s largest gain, increasing $0.48 to end the day at $35.48. Conversely, Guardian Holdings Ltd suffered the day’s greatest loss, falling $0.10 to close at $15.15.
Clico Investment Fund was the only active security on the mutual fund market, posting a volume of 30,321 shares valued at $651,828.95. It remained at $21.50.
