Ansa leads with $2.8 m in trades
Overall market activity resulted from trading in 11 securities of which three advanced, four declined and four traded firm.
Trading activity on the First Tier Market registered a volume of 103,432 shares crossing the floor of the Exchange valued at $4,422,734.15. Ansa McAl Ltd was the volume leader with 43,034 shares changing hands for a value of $2,859,609.30, followed by First Citizens Bank Ltd with a volume of 32,496 shares being traded for $1,197,769.83. Jamaica Money Market Brokers Ltd contributed 23,265 shares with a value of $11,910.45, while Republic Bank Ltd added 1,779 shares valued at $214,555.40.
First Citizens Bank Ltd enjoyed the day's largest gain, increasing $0.84 to end the day at $36.86. Conversely, Unilever Caribbean Ltd suffered the day's greatest loss, falling $0.15 to close at $58.35. Clico Investment Fund was the only active security on the Mutual Fund Market, posting a volume of 9,287 shares valued at $199,206.15. It remained at $21.45.
