Overall market activity resulted from trading in 14 securities of which three advanced, five declined and six traded firm. Trading activity on the first tier market registered a volume of 223,626 shares crossing the floor of the Exchange valued at $11,300,944.03. Republic Bank Ltd was the volume leader with 87,704 shares changing hands for a value of $10,553,422.32, followed by Trinidad Cement Ltd with a volume of 64,825 shares being traded for $129,941.12.
Angostura Holdings Ltd contributed 20,201 shares with a value of $262,510.99, while Sagicor Financial Corporation added 16,452 shares valued at $115,164. First Citizens Bank Ltd enjoyed the day’s largest gain, increasing $0.18 to end the day at $38.10. Conversely, Trinidad Cement Ltd suffered the day’s greatest loss, falling $0.19 to close at $2. Clico Investment Fund was the only active security on the mutual fund market, posting a volume of 54,122 shares valued at $1,178,986. It advanced by $0.15 to end at $21.78.
