Overall market activity resulted from trading in 12 securities of which five advanced, three declined and four traded firm. Trading activity on the first tier market registered a volume of 84,892 shares crossing the floor of the Exchange valued at $5,416,245.89. First Citizens Bank Ltd was the volume leader with 29,063 shares changing hands for a value of $1,118,587.50, followed by Republic Bank Ltd with a volume of 23,853 shares being traded for $2,870,708.55.
Guardian Holdings Ltd contributed 14,746 shares with a value of $199,071, while the West Indian Tobacco Company Ltd added 7,895 shares valued at $931,610. Neal and Massy Holdings Ltd enjoyed the day’s largest gain, increasing $0.50 to end the day at $67. Conversely, Clico Investment Fund suffered the day’s greatest loss, falling $0.02 to close at $21.56. Clico Investment Fund was the only active security on the Mutual Fund Market, posting a volume of 8,395 shares valued at $181,005.30.
