The United States Embassy, Office Are Us Ltd and the Hilton Trinidad Hotel and Conference Centre are among the entities teaming up to co-ordinate a Clean-Up Day in the Queen's Park Savannah on Thursday from 2 pm.Others involved are the Port-of-Spain City Corporation, Carib Glassworks Ltd and Plastikeep.A statement from Office Are Us said the company will be set up to receive ink and toner cartridges for safe disposal at the clean-up.
"Office Are Us Ltd is pleased to offer free assistance to any citizen group or organisation interested and committed to playing their part in efforts to protect our environment. We have worked diligently to set up this CSR project, Ink and Toner Safe Disposal, aimed at minimising a dangerous waste stream polluting our garbage dumps and ground water.
"This initiative earned us the 2013 Energy Chamber Environmental Award. Locally, consumers lack avenues to contribute to the global environmental protection efforts. As a result, Office Are Us has created an easy way to do just that. Get Involved. We consider this a human responsibility and invite you to participate."We will be available and willing to explain the process. Registration packets will be on hand on that day as well for organisations wishing to sign up.
