The threat of global terrorism is a reality that Atlantic chief executive officer Nigel Darlow says he is not going to be taking lightly.Darlow said new security measures had been put in place at the company's Point Fortin facility, including 24-hour video monitoring and increased security personnel.
Speaking with reporters during a media conference on Tuesday prior to a tour of the company's Point Fortin operations, he said while Atlantic did not have any terrorist threat, the company was taking steps to ensure its facility was not breached."Yes, we have increased security. We have put in a new perimeter fence, that was late last year...and we also upgraded CCTV cameras."This is in terms of the global environment. The cargo being loaded onto vessels is (also being monitored)," Darlow added.
He said T&T and Atlantic had a strong international reputation, one that was based on reliability and the company is protective of that reputation.
