Industry veteran Sandy Bell Rojas has been appointed director of sales and marketing at Magdalena Grand Beach and Golf Resort in Tobago and will oversee efforts in all international markets for the 178-room property."Sandy Bell Rojas is a welcome addition to the Magdalena Grand family as she brings an extensive knowledge of the hotel business and Trinidad and Tobago to the position which will help in the marketing of the resort," said John Murphy, principal, efm Hospitality Solutions, operator of the resort.
"I am excited to be working with the entire Magdalena Grand team both at the resort and globally," said Bell Rojas.Bell Rojas is a Swiss hotel-school trained professional with more than 15 years of hotel operations and sales and marketing experience. She began her hotel career at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company working in all sectors of food and beverage operations rising to the level of Assistant Director, Food and Beverage during her ten years with the company.
Bell Rojas left the operations side of the industry in 2008 to join RockResorts as Area Sales Manager for the Caribbean where she was responsible for increasing tour operator business from the United Kingdom, Brazil and Caricom countries.
She rounded out her sales and marketing knowledge portfolio as a market manager for BookIt.com, one of the fastest growing online travel companies in the US. At BookIt.com she was responsible for growing revenue for the company in Antigua, Aruba, Barbados, St Lucia and the US Virgin Islands. She has a deep understanding of the luxury hotel market from both an operations and a sales and marketing perspective.
