The Ministry of Finance (MOF), through the Inland Revenue Division (IRD), will shift to a fully digital system for filing Amusement Gaming Tax returns from April 1.
In a notice to licence holders, the IRD advised that all returns will now be accessed and processed exclusively through its e-Tax Logged In Service, marking the end of paper-based submissions for the tax.
The division stated that paper returns will no longer be accepted for the Amusement Gaming Tax from the 2026 period. However, licence holders with outstanding returns for periods prior to the transition are required to submit those using the existing manual process.
Under the new system, taxpayers must upload all required information and supporting documents electronically, including details on the number of machines operating at their premises.
To access the service, licence holders must obtain a ttconnect ID, which is required to register for e-Tax Services and file returns online. Once registered, users can access the platform via the IRD’s online portal.
The IRD outlined that applicants can obtain a ttconnect ID by completing the application form online or visiting a ttconnect service centre.
Individuals must provide two valid forms of identification, such as a passport, national ID card, driver’s permit, or birth certificate.
Applicants are also required to submit one document to verify their BIR number, including an Advice of Assignment, Notice of Assessment, or Tax Clearance Certificate.
For applications submitted electronically, individuals must include a photograph of themselves holding a valid photo ID, taken against a solid white background.
The IRD is urging all affected licence holders to complete the registration process ahead of the April 1 deadline to ensure a smooth transition to the digital system.
