Trade and In­dus­try Min­is­ter, Paula Gopee-Scoon is pro­mot­ing T&T’s in­vest­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties to US firms in­ter­est­ed in ex­pand­ing their busi­ness­es in the Caribbean. 

Ac­cord­ing to a me­dia re­lease on Fri­day, Gopee-Scoon spoke at the US – Caribbean Busi­ness Con­fer­ence in Mi­a­mi, host­ed by the US Com­mer­cial Ser­vice of the De­part­ment of Com­merce.

The Trade Min­is­ter pro­vid­ed vi­tal in­for­ma­tion on the lo­cal mar­ket, busi­ness and in­fra­struc­ture ac­tiv­i­ties and the ad­van­tages of do­ing busi­ness in T&T.

“Min­is­ter Gopee-Scoon pro­mot­ed T&T as an ide­al in­vest­ment lo­ca­tion for in­ter­est­ed US firms with a va­ri­ety of op­por­tu­ni­ties in man­u­fac­tur­ing, agro pro­cess­ing, down­stream en­er­gy, In­for­ma­tion and Com­mu­ni­ca­tion Tech­nol­o­gy (ICT), the mar­itime, cre­ative and tourism sec­tors. Gov­ern­ment in­cen­tives were al­so shared with in­ter­est­ed par­ties.”

The US – Caribbean Busi­ness Con­fer­ence, which was host­ed in Mi­a­mi on June 5 – 6, brought to­geth­er sev­er­al US busi­ness­es and rep­re­sen­ta­tives of oth­er Caribbean coun­tries with a fo­cus on op­por­tu­ni­ties in T&T, the Ba­hamas, Bar­ba­dos and the East­ern Caribbean, Ja­maica, Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic and Haiti.
