KC Confectionery Ltd, one of T&T’s most iconic heritage brands, has announced the successful export of its new ginger mint line extensions to Canada—a significant milestone in the company’s strategic push for international growth.
This latest shipment marks the culmination of months of product development driven by consumer insights and underscores KC’s commitment to innovation, regulatory compliance, and global market expansion.
A new release from the company said this shipment represents the culmination of months of new product development shaped by consumer insights and highlights the company’s commitment to innovation, product compliance and international market expansion.
The new ginger mint variants—honey and lime, lemon, and orange—were crafted in response to rising international demand for KC’s original ginger mint product as each flavour was designed to appeal to evolving consumer preferences for bold taste and functional benefits, while also meeting stringent international standards.
The updated packaging reflects KC’s proactive approach to compliance, having been tailored to align with Canada’s upcoming front-of-pack nutrition labelling (FOPL) regulations, set to take effect in January 2026.
“This milestone is a statement about our readiness to compete and grow in new international markets. We’re proud to be flying the Trinidad and Tobago flag in Canada, with products that meet evolving global standards while staying true to our signature Caribbean flavour,” Arfan Khan, chief executive officer of KC Confectionery Ltd said.
KC Confectionery currently exports to more than 20 markets world-wide and continues to be a net foreign exchange earner for T&T.
Its innovation-led approach has positioned the company as a regional leader in the candy sector, with a strong focus on reformulation and market adaptation.
The company noted the original ginger mint remains a flagship product, beloved by consumers both locally and abroad, including diaspora and non-diaspora communities.
The three new ginger mint flavours are expected to debut on select Canadian retail shelves later this month, supported by KC’s export distribution partner.
This launch not only strengthens KC’s presence in North America but also reinforces its role as a champion of Caribbean manufacturing excellence on the global stage.
