An­oth­er long-stand­ing Port-of-Spain busi­ness has an­nounced plans to tran­si­tion from its cur­rent op­er­at­ing mod­el.

On Mon­day, Laugh­lin & De Gannes an­nounced the Tool Store would be trans­formed in­to show­rooms for Lafast Mo­tors.

The Tool Store had been op­er­a­tion for 75 years, ac­cord­ing to the Laugh­lin & De Gannes web­site and, un­til this week, the com­pa­ny had Tool Stores in Port-of-Spain and San Fer­nan­do.

The post stat­ed, “As Laugh­lin & De Gannes con­tin­ues to evolve, we are tak­ing thought­ful steps to­ward the next phase of our jour­ney. Part of this evo­lu­tion in­cludes reimag­in­ing how we use our phys­i­cal space to bet­ter re­flect where our busi­ness is head­ing.”

The post con­tin­ued, “In the com­ing week, the Tool Store will close in its cur­rent for­mat, as the space tran­si­tions in­to a new Lafast Mo­tors show­room. This show­room will in­tro­duce new brands and of­fer­ings be­ing brought to mar­ket by the Lafast Mo­tors fam­i­ly, cre­at­ing a mod­ern space fo­cused on what comes next.”

The com­pa­ny added, “Laugh­lin & De Gannes re­mains ful­ly com­mit­ted to dis­trib­ut­ing trust­ed au­to­mo­tive brands through our na­tion­wide net­work of lo­cal deal­ers. Dur­ing this tran­si­tion pe­ri­od, our team re­mains avail­able to sup­port you and an­swer any ques­tions, and we look for­ward to wel­com­ing you in­to the new Lafast Mo­tors show­room once ren­o­va­tions are com­plete.”

In the past two weeks sev­er­al Port-of-Spain busi­ness­es have an­nounced clo­sures or changes in its busi­ness struc­ture.
