Barataria San Juan MP Saddam Hosein has hailed the construction of the new Courts Megastore and plans for the new Mega Plaza as a positive development for his constituency.
“I’m so happy that they have chosen to stay right here in the heart of San Juan. Whatever support that we can lend that is something that we will do. Also, whatever support that they can lend to my constituents. That will also be welcome, as companies like this ought to play a very active role in the community and their corporate social responsibility. I’m very impressed with the store, as I said, generating employment, economic activity right here in Barataria, San Juan.”
Hosein said there had been significant developments in the area, and he was hopeful that he could oversee more significant development in the area so that it could be a major economic hub in the East-West corridor.
“I want to ensure that ours is one of the major economic hubs in Trinidad and Tobago for both wholesale and retail. El Socorro South is well-positioned. On this side of the highway is well-positioned, also well-positioned for ease of access and so on. Projects like these, through facilitation of the government, will ensure that we have that economic activity,” he said, adding that under his purview as Minister of Land and Legal Affairs, he was looking at measures to address securing land tenure and land ownership in a streamlined manner.
