The Na­tion­al Ju­nior Panora­ma for 2012 has of­fi­cial­ly been giv­en the stamp of ap­proval. In a meet­ing held at the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion in St Clair yes­ter­day, Ed­u­ca­tion Min­is­ter Dr Tim Gopeesingh gave his bless­ings and as­sur­ance to mem­bers of Pan Trin­ba­go. "Many peo­ple are con­cerned about not hear­ing any­thing at all about the com­pe­ti­tion, but all sys­tems are go for the Na­tion­al Ju­nior Panora­ma," said Rudo Forteau, youth de­vel­op­ment of­fi­cer of Pan Trin­ba­go. "How­ev­er, all in­ter­est­ed par­ties should start reg­is­ter­ing for the event as soon as is pos­si­ble, di­rect­ly through Pan Trin­ba­go, or via the Pan in the Class­room Unit.

"This is nec­es­sary to de­ter­mine whether an of­fi­cial pre­lim­i­nary round will take place or to just hold one phase of the com­pe­ti­tion," he ex­plained. Forteau in­sist­ed that even though there may or may not be a pre­lim­i­nary round the fixed date of the Ju­nior Pan fi­nals will re­main Feb­ru­ary 12. Present at yes­ter­day's meet­ing were Per­ma­nent Sec­re­tary Mau­rice Suite, Pan Trin­ba­go pres­i­dent Kei­th Di­az and sev­er­al of­fi­cials of the steel­band body.
