The National Junior Panorama for 2012 has officially been given the stamp of approval. In a meeting held at the Ministry of Education in St Clair yesterday, Education Minister Dr Tim Gopeesingh gave his blessings and assurance to members of Pan Trinbago. "Many people are concerned about not hearing anything at all about the competition, but all systems are go for the National Junior Panorama," said Rudo Forteau, youth development officer of Pan Trinbago. "However, all interested parties should start registering for the event as soon as is possible, directly through Pan Trinbago, or via the Pan in the Classroom Unit.
"This is necessary to determine whether an official preliminary round will take place or to just hold one phase of the competition," he explained. Forteau insisted that even though there may or may not be a preliminary round the fixed date of the Junior Pan finals will remain February 12. Present at yesterday's meeting were Permanent Secretary Maurice Suite, Pan Trinbago president Keith Diaz and several officials of the steelband body.
