Good food, good cheer and sweet soca is flowing like water at all-inclusive fetes. Ultimate Promotions personnel Colin Skerritt and Oral Seifert are offering a maritime experience. About 700 Carnival lovers can party hearty while on board. They have the added bonus of enjoying the nighttime sights and sounds when the vessel rounds the curve of the bay. For C2k12, they are staging a cruise-Trini Blues Cruise on board soca artiste Iwer George's Vessel-Coral Vision-on February 10. As the countdown to the cruise intensifies, Seifert said: "Carnival is my passion. I have background in events management. I like it. It's a natural thing for me. We chose Coral Vision because it is bigger and offers more stability. People get to party at sea." She also explained some of the proceeds would go toward assisting charities. She said: "We are hoping to partner with community groups and charitable organisations. We are offering $20 dollars for tickets sold.
"In addition, we are offering the group that sells the most number of tickets some funds. We went around to some community groups, and we approached the PTA." To date, they have concretised plans to assist Sangre Grande (District) Scout Group with raising funds towards a camping trip in August to Barbados. They have committed to helping Danara's Precious Blessed Academy Pre School purchase equipment which was stolen.
Skerritt playing Trini Revellers' Archangel
Meanwhile, Skerritt is busy preparing his section Ramajay, which comprises part of Trini Revellers' presentation The Golden Years which is dedicated to mas pioneers like Stephen Lee Heung. They will be on display during the cruise. He said: "I am portraying Archangels. It's a celebration for pioneers like Stephen Lee Heung. We are having a section in Lee Heung's Paradise Lost. It is my second year with Trini Revellers." Skerritt said the sexy costumes are appealing to the younger masqueraders. He added: "We will be portraying the costumes on the cruise. Patrons will get a chance to view the designs. They will get a chance to socialise and mingle before Carnival Monday and Tuesday."
Walk with cooler
Patrons can also walk with their cooler and their select alcoholic drinks. She said: "It keeps the budget intact. They can budget around the amount of money they want to spend. No glass bottles." Sailing starts at Cruise Ship Complex, Wrightson Road, Port-of-Spain.
