The Twin Walls Compound in La Romaine was the place to be on February 5, where patrons at the all-inclusive Carnival event, Karamboulay, were treated like royalty. Thousands turned up at the beautifully decorated venue and feasted on bake and shark, finger foods and deserts. As they sipped on a wide array of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, partygoers were treated to an energetic display of musical genius by the soca diva Destra Garcia. Garcia thrilled fans and delivered a stirring performance for just less than two hours.
When she teamed up with defending Chutney Soca Monarch Rikki Jai for their hot collaboration, Pania, the crowd went into a frenzy. Super Jigga TC created a nice vibe with his Groovy Soca Monarch contender, Action. As usual, he had patrons wining and touching there toes. The big crossover band Karma continued to stir up audiences with their mixture of chutney and soca hits. Among those attending the event was WASA CEO Ganga Singh, deputy Senate president Lyndira Oudit, Local Government Minister Chandresh Sharma and former prime minister Basdeo Panday and his wife Oma.
