Top en­ter­tain­er Iw­er "The Boss" George has picked up vi­tal en­dorse­ments in his bid to be­come the new Dig­i­cel In­ter­na­tion­al Pow­er So­ca Monarch. For­mer In­ter­na­tion­al Pow­er So­ca Mon­archs Bun­ji Gar­lin (Ian Al­varez) and wife Fay Ann Lyons-Al­varez have thrown their sup­port be­hind "The Boss," fol­low­ing their de­ci­sion to bow out of the com­pe­ti­tion pro­duced by Caribbean Pres­tige Foun­da­tion for the Per­form­ing Arts (CPF), at least, for this year.

Machel Mon­tano is the reign­ing In­ter­na­tion­al Pow­er So­ca Monarch and will be de­fend­ing his ti­tle on Feb­ru­ary 17, at the Hase­ly Craw­ford Sta­di­um. He has al­so en­tered the Play Whe Groovy So­ca Monarch cat­e­go­ry and will seek to de­feat present ti­tle­hold­er Kees Di­ef­fen­thaller. Guardian Me­dia Ltd is the of­fi­cial me­dia part­ner for the so­ca monarch brands. In­ter­viewed, Bun­ji Gar­lin pre­dict­ed that "The Boss" would take the crown.

Fay-Ann shared her hus­band's choice to win the cov­et­ed ti­tle. She said: "I'm sup­port­ing all the artistes, but he (The Boss) is from Point Fortin, so I have to sup­port him." Asked if she had any pre­dic­tions for the groovy monarch cat­e­go­ry, Fay Ann said while she was feel­ing the vibes of Ker­win Du Bois and Na­dia Bat­son, every­thing came down to per­for­mance.
