Good weath­er and strong crowd sup­port made for suc­cess­ful Kid­dies Car­ni­val cel­e­bra­tions in Cen­tral Trinidad on Sun­day. Young­sters from more than 15 bands danced and pranced on stages at Cou­va and Ch­agua­nas. At Cou­va, Ram­c­hand Ra­jbal Maraj, chair­man of the Cou­va Car­ni­val Com­mit­tee, said crowd sup­port for re­gion­al cel­e­bra­tions has been grow­ing over the last two decades. The first band to cross the stage at around 4 pm was The Caribbean Sea, a pre­sen­ta­tion of the En­ter­prise Youth. Bands tak­ing part in the Cen­tral com­pe­ti­tions, de­pend­ing on their place of ori­gin, ei­ther hit Ch­agua­nas or Cou­va first.
