Min­is­ter of Tourism Stephen Cadiz ex­pects 40,000 tourists this Car­ni­val. Cadiz was speak­ing dur­ing a tour of the Mag­nif­i­cent Sev­en build­ings around the Queen's Park Sa­van­nah, Port-of-Spain ear­li­er this week. It was host­ed by the Min­istries of Works and In­fra­struc­ture, Tourism, Na­tion­al Di­ver­si­ty and So­cial In­te­gra­tion and the Na­tion­al Trust yes­ter­day.

Five ma­jor ho­tels are re­port­ed­ly booked to ca­pac­i­ty, said Cadiz. The ex­pect­ed num­ber of vis­i­tors was on av­er­age with past Car­ni­val sea­sons and Cadiz said the Gov­ern­ment would con­tin­ue to push Car­ni­val as the main tourist at­trac­tion. The min­is­ter said he ex­pect­ed a safe and suc­cess­ful Car­ni­val.
