Minister of Tourism Stephen Cadiz expects 40,000 tourists this Carnival. Cadiz was speaking during a tour of the Magnificent Seven buildings around the Queen's Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain earlier this week. It was hosted by the Ministries of Works and Infrastructure, Tourism, National Diversity and Social Integration and the National Trust yesterday.
Five major hotels are reportedly booked to capacity, said Cadiz. The expected number of visitors was on average with past Carnival seasons and Cadiz said the Government would continue to push Carnival as the main tourist attraction. The minister said he expected a safe and successful Carnival.
