Penal resident Sonia Millington is the 2013 Chaguanas Carnival Queen.The 21-year-old copped the $10,000 first prize during the final of the competition at the Chaguanas Market Car Park on Friday night.Millington, a student of the University of the West Indies, St Augustine campus, where she is pursuing a degree in Spanish, also won a trip to Miami and a television set.
Placing second was Samantha Sinanan, and in third spot was Vanessa Smith, who also won the award for Miss Congeniality.Each of the participants received $10,000 before the show to prepare themselves for the pageant.
