Masqueraders and fans of popular mas band, Fantasy Carnival, are set to learn the secret of happiness tomorrow as reigning joint Soca Monarch Machel Montano and his HD Family will make their Carnival debut at Secret Saturday.
Drawing upon the band's 2014 mas theme, Secrets of the Deep, Secret Saturday will feature the Happiest Man Alive in his first full performance for Carnival 2014.
"My New Year resolution is to eat, love and live healthier!" Montano said this week about his plans for 2014.
Being staged at the Queen's Park Oval, St Clair, the much anticipated cooler-style event begins at 10 pm and will feature a supporting cast of "secret acts" who have been revealed via social media over the last month. These include: 2012 Chutney Soca Monarch, Kris "KI" Persad, radio personalities, Shal Marshall, Jaiga, 5Star Akil and US-based recording artiste, Devon "Lyrikal" Martin.
According to a Fantasy Carnival spokesman: "This event is dedicated to all our masqueraders, committees and the Fantasy faithful. It draws upon our 2014 theme Secrets of the Deep and will celebrate the new year and the new season with new music and special secret surprises! We ask everyone to come out with their coolers and prepare to take notes on the secret to happiness, as told by the Happiest Man Alive!"
Montano said he is "very excited" about his first full band performance tomorrow night:
"We are very excited because it's our first event for the season and we have been upgrading the HD experience. We would be having a few new things going on for this show."
No glass bottles will be allowed into the venue and the Fantasy Ticket Hotline at 478-9214 remains open from 10 am to 8 pm.
