I have to be honest though, the one I am having difficulty reading is Dr Keith Rowley. His "conditional" support of Mr Manning was a curious move on the board. It is all the more perplexing because the idea of supporting someone until they are proven wrong just sounds ...well I cannot say what I want to here. It sounds like he is giving Mr Manning enough rope but at the same time he comes across as a waffling political leader unable to either rein in Mr Manning or contend with his own recalcitrant minority, the Manning supporters who won't go away. Dr Rowley seems eager to straddle the divide of both parties, desirous of representing the face of change in the People's National Movement but equally important to him is giving a nod to the Manning cohort within the wounded party. So what started as a serious debate about issues of surveillance was expertly pared down to something the rabble could digest; even the Government fell in with the game.
