When did we cross the Rubicon and not realise it until it has become too late and not that the horse has bolted and crime is galloping like a runaway horse we are all holding our collective heads and bawling?
Where were the missing mothers when all of this was happening? What were they doing or not doing and what can they do to try to salvage this situation. The Prime Minister has stated publicly that there is need to approach the problem in three stages short term, medium term and long term and this is all well and good but there needs to be more than that because there needs to be an awakening and an arousing from our collective slumber or denial as we have to wake up and realise that this problem will get a lot worse before it begins to get better. I have always said that there is no quick fix nor any magic bullet to solve this crime problem but one of the first things we need to begin to recognise, is where and what are the root causes and what have we been doing wrong as a society? In doing so we cannot ignore or fail to recognise the role that has not been played and the role that needs to be played by so many of the missing mothers in our society.
