I unequivocally and comprehensively agree with the views expressed in the letter titled "Oh, for some relief from the loud music," published on Tuesday. I suggest further that since the police are always on seemingly more important chores, it may be a good idea to also give the new incoming traffic wardens access to sound meters, thereby enabling them to oversee and control the problem by even issuing warnings and tickets for noise pollution. With the stroke of a pen the EMA can share or transfer responsibility for minor infractions.
This very simple action can bring unimaginable comfort to thousands of our citizens and take our nation into First World status.
