One night several years ago, a policeman stopped a man for running through the Georgetown University area of DC. The man was late for a movie. He was black. That man who was stopped for running was then-federal prosecutor, now-Attorney General of the United States, Eric Holder.
One night in February of last year, a self-appointed neighbourhood watch "captain" stopped a teenager who was walking through a gated community. The teenager was walking home after buying candy and iced tea. He was black. Within minutes, he was shot dead. The dead teenager was Trayvon Martin.
