Immigration dept to play critical role in embassy in China
Within a few months, the government of T&T is preparing to open an embassy in China. Naturally, this is a very pivotal and significant move in the advancement of our foreign relations, especially in this global economy, where small states must be consistently competitive. This judicious move comes at a time when China’s global economic role is expanding robustly.
Importantly, as China’s economy continues to grow, it can be expected that China will assume a greater economic influence in the world, in terms of the size of its GDP, share of world trade and control of foreign assets and international monetary reserves.
In support of this revival, China has devised its national policy to stimulate domestic consumption, invest in the energy and other sections in the world, and make monetary decisions about its large monetary reserves, and supporting its national corporations to diversify in the ownership of international firms.
