After four losses in a row within 11 months, one would have thought that this government would accept without reservation that it has lost significant support from the citizenry.Instead of pussy-footing on the issue of waning popularity, the Prime Minister should immediately read the Riot Act to her Cabinet and make decisions that prove she is up to the task of strong leadership.
Perhaps no one wants to tell the PM the truth, for fear that it would result in his dismissal or lack of favour, but at this stage of the game, ignoring the message being sent by the population is not a viable option. The PM should no longer believe that she is viewed as separate and apart from her ministers, many of whom are considered as albatrosses around her neck.
But for some reason, the PM is unprepared to deal firmly with those whose political timelines have long expired. And to make matters worse, those individuals are viewed as blue-eyed boys who can do no wrong. A PM can do so much and no more to rally the forces and inspire the troops, especially if surrounded by ambitious individuals who have a personal agenda to deliberately undermine the worth of their leader.
