Grenada Days 11
Today's Grenada offers a variety of entertainment. The large influx of students attending St George's University (SGU) and their spending power have given birth to a thriving dining and drinking scene, should the blockos and "cooks" of everyday Grenadians bore you.(A cook is a lime in which a group of friends get together to cook–lambie waters–conch soup–curried goat or barbecued chicken all being fair game.)
Since I've been here I've been sailing on a Petit Martinique sloop, a traditional, handcrafted sailboat. I've been on an afternoon cruise on a party catamaran. I've been drinking at Umbrellas, the Grand Anse equivalent to Pelican Pub (a reference which dates me, alas). I've had brunch and dinner at Le Boulangerie, a casual bistro serving excellent pasta. Were I inclined to sample fine dining further afield than the excellent nouvelle cuisine at the University Club where I live, I'd have a raft of alternatives, I'm told.
