As I drive around certain areas of the country, I find myself becoming annoyed by the dumping of garbage. What I cannot understand is why the State cannot put large bins similar to the ones used on construction sites at these locations. The fact that people tend to dump garbage is testimony that they prefer a clean environment and cannot tolerate garbage at home. Litter wardens cannot work 24 hours a day and cannot be at every corner. When one considers the amount of money it would cost to pay litter wardens, much more would be achieved if this money is spent on large bins.
It is the responsibility of the State to collect garbage and whether someone dumps their rubbish in a large bin or waits for the truck at home it is still the State's job to pick it up. Which one is cheaper: for ten people to dump their garbage in one big bin and the garbage truck comes to one location or for the garbage truck to visit ten homes?
