There were increased security measures in place at the Arima Magistrates Court yesterday in anticipation of the arrival and departure of murder accused Ayokie Bradley Charles.Charles is alleged to have shot and killed Fabien London last Thursday as he left the courthouse and onto Prince Street, Arima.Charles, 23, who has two addresses–Longdenville, Chaguanas and Circle Drive, San Fernando was represented by attorney Christian Chandler.
He told senior magistrate Indra Ramoo-Haynes his client was fearful for his life. Charles is also charged with possession of a gun and ammunition.Chandler said affiliates of London who were on remand posed a real threat to his client and asked for special accommodation to be made for him. The magistrate said Commissioner of Prisons Conrad Barrow would be made aware of Charles' concerns. The matter was then adjourned to June 4.
On May 1, London left the court and was standing on Prince Street, Arima, when he was approached by two men.One pulled out a gun and shot him several times.
