It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Herbert “Kipps” Magalhães, 92, on January 28, 2024. Kipps was born December 8, 1931 in Princes Town, Trinidad, to the late Joaquim and Mildred (née Baptiste) Magalhães. He emigrated to Canada in 1956 and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. It had been his dream as a child to fly planes. His service included membership to the 425 All-Weather Fighter Squadron and the 414 Electronic Warfare Squadron. His last years in the Force were spent with the Air Force Air Cadets, training the next generation of pilots. Kipps’s retirement in 1988 permitted him to spend time on his second passion, golf. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Florence; daughter Mona Magalhães and her husband René Filion; grand-daughter Maïa Magalhães-Filion; sisters Rita Stanley and Maria Hasmatali, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by brothers Joachim, Francis, Tony, Leo and Jose Magalhães, and sister Mavis Smith. In Loving Memory of Samlal “Honey” Mahadeo & Yvonne Mahadeo. The moment that you left us, our hearts were split in two, One side filled with memories, the other died with you, Remembering you is easy, we do it every day, But missing you is a heartache, that never goes away, They say there’s a reason, they say that time will heal, But neither time or reason. will change the way we feel, For no one knows the heartache, that lies behind our smiles, No one knows how many times, we have broken down and cried, We want to tell you something, so there won’t be any doubt, You’re so wonderful to think about, but so hard to be without Lovingly Remembered By: Children: Allan, Marlene, Gerard, Andy, Wendy & Ricardo. Grandchildren: Alyssa, Adrian, Samantha, Blake, Sabrina, Ryan, Catherine, Andrew, Mark & Max-Sam. Daughters-in-law: Bonnie, Denise, Vishalli. Brothers, Sisters, Family & Friends.
