WILLIAMS- SMITH: FRANCIS Thomas ‘FT’ passed away on Wednesday, 4TH July, 2012 at the age of 97. Beloved husband of 72 years of Anesta ‘Babes’ née Bento. Devoted father of Marjorie, Rosalie, Betty, Glen, Francis Jr. and David; father-in-Law of Ian Bain, Dr. Jill Robertson Williams-Smith and Mireille Williams-Smith. Well-loved Grandfather of Rachel and Alexander Gregor-Smith; Dante, Alessandro, and Daniella Berlingeri; Belinda, Bianca and Bjorn Bain; Graham and Janine Jervis; Joanne and Elizabeth Williams-Smith; and James Robertson; and adored Great- Grandfather of Elijah, Esther, Lanna, Nico, Gianfranco, Malik, Adriano and Annalia. Brother of Marjorie ‘Sis’, John ‘Buddy’, Louis ‘Chenk’ and David ‘Baba’, all deceased; revered uncle of Ronald Bento. He was a Civil Servant of many years in Audit, Customs and Excise, and as General Manager, Central Water Distribution Authority. On retirement he pursued a successful career as a Barrister-at-Law for 33 years. He was a committed Mason, was awarded "Grand Rank" as Honorary Grand Sword Bearer, was Past Master of Lodge United Brothers No 251 S.C., and a Foundation Past Master of Lodge Royalian 1605 SC. Funeral services will be held on Monday 9TH July, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, St Ann’s Avenue, St. Ann’s, with interment at Lapeyrouse Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a Collection will be made for the St Vincent De Paul Society and the Renovation Project at St Francis RC Church, Belmont. For enquiries, please call C&B 625-1170.
