BARROW: SELWYN EMILE (Selo, Wheel) on January 20, 2014 in Wiltshire, England, after a courageous battle with cancer, in his 75th year. Remembered with love by his wife Eileen, stepson Carl, grandson Liam, daughter-inlaw Catherine. Selo will forever be in the hearts of his brothers and sisters, Beulah Cowley (Eng.), Winston and Betty, (BC, Can.), Eldwyth and David de Roche, Evadne and Harry Shirton, Godfrey and Hathe (all of Ont. Can.). Predeceased by parents William and Ermyntrude Barrow, brothers Wesley, Russell, Brensley and sister Lucy Bonnie. He will be sadly missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews in Trinidad, England, Canada and USA. Selwyn was born in Trinidad on November 9th, 1939. He attended Tranquillity Boy;s School and Queen's Royal College where he played football at the Colts level and was a patrol leader with the First QRC Sea Scouts. He migrated to England in 1958 and joined the British Army, earned his paratrooper wings, served with the Royal Signals in Malaya, Hong Kong, Singapore and Northern Ireland. Selwyn enjoyed snooker, lawn tennis, computers, music, dancing at the local pub, boating (built a few in his lifetime) and cars. He was in the process of building an XK120 Jaguar sports coupe when he fell ill 3 years ago. The 'Village of Shrewton has lost a real trooper'.
