Insp Alexander ought to know that his aggressive language aimed at the criminal elements, following closely on recent unfortunate statements along the same lines by National Security Minister Gary Griffith, could result in his fellow officers and innocent citizens being put at increased risk in the crime hotspots.
Insp Roger Alexander's declaration of all-out war against criminals in response to what he sees as direct threats against the police is ill-timed and ill-advised.His angry tirade, triggered by the comments of a relative of one of the weekend's victims of police shootings, Keshorn Daniel, adds fuel to the already volatile situation in east Port-of-Spain and other crime hotspots where there have been escalations of gang warfare and public outcries against perceived police killings.
Insp Alexander ought to know that his aggressive language aimed at the criminal elements, following closely on recent unfortunate statements along the same lines by National Security Minister Gary Griffith, could result in his fellow officers and innocent citizens being put at increased risk in the crime hotspots.
