Under the distinguished patronage of its leader Winston Dookeran and his wife, Shirley, the Congress of the People (COP) hosted a Christmas Cocktail last Saturday at the Auditorium of the Bishop Anstey High School East and Trinity College East in Trincity.
Guests were treated to traditional hors d'oeuvres, assorted beverages and parang music by the school's parang group-winners of this year's Secondary School Islandwide Parang Competition, retaining their title from 2009. In attendance were MPs Lincoln Douglas, Prakash Ramadhar, Anil Roberts, Jairam Seemungal, Senator David Abdulah, and Chief Servant Makandal Daaga. A highlight of the event was the presentation of four cuatros to the school's parang band.
