Guyanese-born artiste Militant, and two of his countrymen are ready to break free for Carnival 2011 with the Break Riddim. The tracks were produced by Fojo, also of Guyana, from Platinum 101 Studios. Fojo said he began the production in the studio's Guyana location, and completed the tracks in Platinum's Trinidad branch.
Artistes on the rhythm are prominent singers in the music industry in both Guyana and T&T. They include API Record Label artistes Militant, and recently signed 2009 Soca Queen, Shelly G (Shelon Garraway).
Four other artistes on the track are T&T nationals including Hit Man, who features with Shelly G on the track Iron, and Jah Melody with the track Love the Way.
The songs on the Break Riddim take on a comical call and response format. In the leading track entitled Break Free by Militant, he appeals to his woman for his space to party for Carnival. However, Shelly G [the only female on the Rhythm] in her song Iron responds saying she needs to have the rhythm of the Iron.
Next in the song lineup is Rudy, who enters the mix telling his woman it's okay to enjoy her time in the party, and that he will be fine with her frolicking just as long as she returns to him at the end of the night.
The artistes on the Break Riddim will be featured in some of the upcoming fetes and events for Trinidad Carnival 2011.
