Implementing the right ingredients for a hopeful and brighter future, First Impression-Brash and Sassy's third annual Little Miss Claxton Bay denoted what Christ meant to the Christmas holiday.
The junior pageant, themed Fruits of the Spirit, saw eight young lasses sharing their thoughts of what Christmas meant to them. Committed to the competition, the girls all performed a religious dance and recited biblical scriptures from various books of the bible. The committee's PRO Nikeisha Gabriel said the show was specially designed to foster the spiritual values in the children.
"The girls enter this pageant because we offer a chance to better understand life. "This show is also a stepping stone for future pageants, and it helps them to become spiritual and elegant young women," Gabriel said. The competition was held at the Plasiance Regional Complex, Plasiance Park on December 12. The eight bright face entrants converged on stage with a spiritual dance bearing fruit bowl as the theme suggested. They wore miniature clothing that emulated role models of society-police officer, designer, soldier, and nurse-followed by the talent and evening gown segments.
And after articulately reciting her chosen biblical lines, eight-year-old Shivonne Nelson, a pupil of the San Fernando Girls' Government School, was crowned the overall winner. Ashley Neptune,Tionne Atwell, and Diamond John-Williams placed first, second and third runners-up respectively.
