All systems are go for tomorrow evening's Old Hilarians' fund-raising all-inclusive fete, scheduled for 4 pm at Bishop's Anstey High School (BAHS) Grounds, Keate Street, Port-of-Spain, and the divas are expected to rule the event. The playbill boasts of some of the most awesome female personalities in local showbiz, including Destra, Denise Belfon, Candi Hoyte and DJ Duchess. The Old Hilarians party is a true showcase of woman power as, beside its diva artiste, BAHS was the first school to host a fund-raising Carnival all-inclusive, doing so 15 years ago.
Joining the women will be Roy Cape All Stars, Dil-e-Nadan, Benjai, Super Jigga TC, Swappi, Skinny Fabulous, Blaxx, Olatunji, and DJs CG and Syndicate. To disclose plans for the party, and for a year of celebrations to mark the 90th anniversary of BAHS, the Old Hilarians held a media conference at the school on Tuesday evening. In attendance were sponsors who have supported the fund-raising fete from its inception in 1996.
With the exit of Digicel, the newest sponsor on board is Blink Vigilance. Other sponsors in attendance were Brydens, Angostura, and Home Gourmet Company. Addressing Tuesday's gathering were Old Hilarians Association president Wanda Bernard, and Fete Committee co-chairs Ann Marguerite Moore and Alicia Henandez. Also in attendance were BAHS principal Patsy Ann Rudder, past fete committee head Gem Ible-Lewis, and BAHS alumni Joanne Dupigny, Jacqueline Morris, Camille Forde and Dionne Nichol. Long standing BAHS benefactor Debyi King was also present.
