Soca heartthrob, Kees Dieffenthaller, enchanted an elated San Fernando crowd last Thursday at the Razzmatazz Sport Lounge at the On The Road Thursday Show. It was a packed house, with predominantly female fans. And when he stepped on stage, the screams of appreciation could be heard outside by those who were unable to get inside the venue due to a lack of space. Kees performed his groovy soca hit, Wotless, and he invited female patrons on the stage, much to their delight. The women surrounded him, each trying their best to get a touch or a dance with the artiste. Kees performed one of his older hits, Loving You, which had featured Jamaican artiste Tessane Chin.

And in Chin’s absence, the women willingly filled in. Kees was thrilled by the reception and promised he would be representing the people of south this Carnival. He urged patrons to support the upcoming artistes, as he, too, was once new to the soca scene. The audience was also entertained by Sean Caruth and newcomer to the soca scene, B Wills, who had the crowd in stitches as he performed Borrow Yuh Gyul.
Razzmatazz’s On The Road Thursday show is a series of parties leading up to the climax of the Carnival season. It features a variety of artistes, new and experienced.
