Water, foam and soca were the main elements that attracted throngs of partygoers to the southland on January 29.Entitled Agua Soca, the wet fete cooler event was organised by Kamillionaire Promotions and Shockwave Entertainment, and held at the Prive Nightclub in La Romaine.Security was tight, and on the roadside outside the venue, two employees of the Environmental Management Authority (EMA) stood monitoring their gauges, which measured the party's decibel level to ensure that it did not go above accepted levels.
When Shivonne Churche, aka Lil Bitts, took to the stage shortly after 1 am, the crowd went wild as she gave them a taste of her Sweetness. While she sang a man who stood atop one of the water trucks that lined one side of the venue began spraying water on the frenzied patrons.Meanwhile, in the party's "dry zone" patrons enjoyed the show from their elevated vantage point.Benjai started his playlist with the popular Trini, and later took his fans on a musical journey, as he performed some of his older selections, before ending his 40 minute stint with Wine to d Side.
Next up was soca crooner Jungle, who proved that he still had what it took to rock a crowd, as he entertained with his Carnival contributions from both past and present. The merriment and good vibes lasted well into the morning, and patrons got the most out of their Agua Soca experience.
