Denyse Plummer performed a medley of songs, including Rikki Jai's popular hit Barman, and was accompanied by flame throwers and masqueraders. Music was provided by the band Soca Unit.
Groovy Soca finalist Grenada's Sugar Jay also made her presence felt, while chutney divas Nisha B, in a sexy leather ensemble complete with a leopard-printed bra, and Drupatee Ramgoonai-Persad added spice to the mix. Ramgoonai-Persad and her dancers had the crowd screaming as they "wined" low.
Twenty year-old Megan Waldron made her debut on the southern stage. She said she was excited and honoured to be on the same stage with calypso royalty. Audience members got a close-up view of the performances through the aid of large television screens mounted on both sides of the stage. Calypso Rose left backstage to sit in the audience and take in some of the performances.
