The of­fi­cial launch of Zeno Obi Con­stance's book The Man Be­hind the Mu­sic, which ex­am­ines the ca­reer of one of ca­lyp­so's true icons, Broth­er Valenti­no, long stand­ing vet­er­an in the ca­lyp­so world. The book will be launched at a dou­ble cer­e­mo­ny to­day at 6.30 pm at the JFK Lec­ture Hall, UWI, St Au­gus­tine. Broth­er Valenti­no's lat­est CD - Food For Thought - an 11-track com­pi­la­tion of his most re­cent works, will al­so get top billing and pa­trons who pur­chase both book and CD will be ho­n­oured with a bonus CD, a col­lec­tion of Broth­er Valenti­no's all time great­est hits.

Pro­fes­sor Gor­don Rol­helr will re­view Broth­er Valenti­no's CD while Dr Louis Reg­is will de­liv­er the keynote ad­dress on the book. The Trin­ba­go Uni­fied Ca­lyp­so­ni­ans Or­gan­i­sa­tion (Tu­co), the Eman­ci­pa­tion Sup­port Com­mit­tee and the Na­tion­al Joint Ac­tion Com­mit­tee (NJAC) have all been asked to bring mes­sage of trib­ute to Broth­er Valenti­no. Ca­lyp­so­ni­ans Abebele, Soft Touch, the Re­gen­er­a­tion Now, Am­ri­ka Mutroo, among oth­ers, will pay mu­si­cal trib­ute to this gift­ed artiste who will bring the cur­tain down with Trinidad and To­ba­go's favourite ca­lyp­so Life is a Stage.
