The official launch of Zeno Obi Constance's book The Man Behind the Music, which examines the career of one of calypso's true icons, Brother Valentino, long standing veteran in the calypso world. The book will be launched at a double ceremony today at 6.30 pm at the JFK Lecture Hall, UWI, St Augustine. Brother Valentino's latest CD - Food For Thought - an 11-track compilation of his most recent works, will also get top billing and patrons who purchase both book and CD will be honoured with a bonus CD, a collection of Brother Valentino's all time greatest hits.
Professor Gordon Rolhelr will review Brother Valentino's CD while Dr Louis Regis will deliver the keynote address on the book. The Trinbago Unified Calypsonians Organisation (Tuco), the Emancipation Support Committee and the National Joint Action Committee (NJAC) have all been asked to bring message of tribute to Brother Valentino. Calypsonians Abebele, Soft Touch, the Regeneration Now, Amrika Mutroo, among others, will pay musical tribute to this gifted artiste who will bring the curtain down with Trinidad and Tobago's favourite calypso Life is a Stage.
