With the pass­ing of the 78-year-old Carib Queen Valenti­na Med­i­na on April 23, the San­ta Rosa First Peo­ples Carib Com­mu­ni­ty of Ari­ma is look­ing to­wards a new chap­ter in its In­dige­nous fu­ture as it hosts the In­au­gu­ra­tion of a new queen, Jen­nifer Pile-Cas­sar, on Au­gust 6.

This event is recog­nised by the State and the In­dige­nous pop­u­la­tion as most sig­nif­i­cant and will be co-host­ed by the Min­istry of Arts and Mul­ti­cul­tur­al­ism. Min­is­ter of the Arts and Mul­ti­cul­tur­al­ism, Win­ston Pe­ters will head the dis­tin­guished guests along with rep­re­sen­ta­tives from State min­istries, the Catholic Church, and lead­ers of the var­i­ous in­dige­nous groups.

The In­au­gur­al Holy Mass at the San­ta Rosa RC Church at Wood­ford Street, Ari­ma, will be­gin at 5 pm, and in­vit­ed guests will fol­low to the re­cep­tion at the San­ta Rosa Carib Com­mu­ni­ty Cen­ter, 7A Paul Mitchell Street, Ari­ma.
