With the passing of the 78-year-old Carib Queen Valentina Medina on April 23, the Santa Rosa First Peoples Carib Community of Arima is looking towards a new chapter in its Indigenous future as it hosts the Inauguration of a new queen, Jennifer Pile-Cassar, on August 6.
This event is recognised by the State and the Indigenous population as most significant and will be co-hosted by the Ministry of Arts and Multiculturalism. Minister of the Arts and Multiculturalism, Winston Peters will head the distinguished guests along with representatives from State ministries, the Catholic Church, and leaders of the various indigenous groups.
The Inaugural Holy Mass at the Santa Rosa RC Church at Woodford Street, Arima, will begin at 5 pm, and invited guests will follow to the reception at the Santa Rosa Carib Community Center, 7A Paul Mitchell Street, Arima.
