On Feb­ru­ary 13, Yorke Inc, FB Pro­mo­tions and Kreative Con­cepts host­ed their An­nu­al All-In­clu­sive Fund-rais­ing Car­ni­val Fete at UWI Se­nior Com­mon Room, St Au­gus­tine fea­tur­ing Dil-e-Nadan, Kes the Band and De­stra and her Band with sev­er­al guest artistes, well sup­port­ed by Siparia Rhythm Sec­tion.The group has come to­geth­er over the years to pro­mote high qual­i­ty cul­tur­al events. Based on the suc­cess of these events, they have been able to make sub­stan­tial char­i­ta­ble do­na­tions over the past few years to a num­ber of needy or­gan­i­sa­tions. For the years 2009-2011, the pro­mot­ers have pledged and paid bur­saries to the UWI Alum­ni As­so­ci­a­tion (UWIAA) to aid fi­nan­cial­ly dis­tressed stu­dents at­tend­ing the Uni­ver­si­ty of the West In­dies based on pre-de­ter­mined cri­te­ria.

Stu­dents be­come el­i­gi­ble for the award based on the fol­low­ing cri­te­ria:

• On suc­cess­ful com­ple­tion of his/her cours­es, achiev­ing an over­all min­i­mum Grade B av­er­age.

• Must make a sig­nif­i­cant con­tri­bu­tion to stu­dent life, in­clud­ing ser­vice on the Stu­dents Guild and es­pe­cial­ly.

• Must pro­vide ev­i­dence of fi­nan­cial need.
