Nik­ki Cros­by is set to send au­di­ences wild when she por­trays the prime min­is­ter in the up­com­ing pro­duc­tion ti­tled, The Gos­sip Girls and the PM, open­ing this week­end, Sun­day, at the Na­tion­al Acad­e­my for the Per­form­ing Arts (NA­PA), Port-of-Spain. Pro­duced by Randy Glas­gow Pro­duc­tions (RGP), the show will con­tin­ue at NA­PA on Au­gust 25 and 26 be­fore mov­ing on to sev­er­al oth­er lo­ca­tions in San Fer­nan­do, Tu­na­puna, Ari­ma and To­ba­go. The sketch com­e­dy pro­duc­tion, that will al­so fea­ture sev­er­al top lo­cal stand-up co­me­di­ans, will see Cros­by and the oth­er cast mem­bers, in­clud­ing Clevas Mitchell, Wen­dell Eti­enne, Shel­don Nar­ine, Ken­neth Su­per­sad, Dese Si­mon and Knuts Land­ing, mak­ing light of the es­capades of the na­tion's politi­cians and ex­plor­ing through com­e­dy. Is­sues, such as where the po­lice of­fi­cers went for their day of rest and re­flec­tion will be high­light­ed, as well as the var­i­ous moon­light­ing jobs of all the mem­bers of par­lia­ment.

Cros­by will por­tray a prime min­is­ter try­ing to nav­i­gate her way through one com­i­cal quag­mire of con­tro­ver­sy af­ter an­oth­er, while try­ing to lead her cab­i­net of colour­ful char­ac­ters. Al­so per­form­ing in Gos­sip Girls and the PM is Cy­clops, who plays the new­ly in­stalled works min­is­ter try­ing to climb up the po­lit­i­cal lad­der, while Tom­my Joseph por­trays hip-hop di­va Nic­ki Mi­naj who fi­nal­ly ad­mits to us­ing foul lan­guage at the Lo­cal­ize It con­cert.The Gos­sip Girls in­cludes pre­sen­ta­tions by the Crazy Con­ta­gious Crew, Choonkie Ting, Pee Wee and the Saint. On Au­gust 27 the show moves to the Cen­tre of Ex­cel­lence, Ma­coya, then to Na­pari­ma Bowl, San Fer­nan­do on Au­gust 28, and the Ari­ma Velo­drome on Au­gust 30. The peo­ple of To­ba­go will have the op­por­tu­ni­ty to see the pro­duc­tion on Sep­tem­ber 3.
