Only one word can be used to describe the YUMA effect on the party massive in T&T: Hooked! Last Saturday's unveiling of the mas band's C2k12 presentation titled Press Play held at Pier 2, Chaguaramas, proved this. Those who chose the event to be the highlight of their weekend entertainment were not disappointed. They were treated to yet another superb production from the new kid on the block with its brilliant display of in-house creativity in Press Play. Though simple, the theme was interpretative and served as the right grade fuel to the night's frenzy.
Beautiful costumes
Intriguing prototypes fit the bodies of sexy models to bring to life the Press Play concept in a 34-minute presentation. Thirteen sections developed from popular video games were presented. They were:
Spawn, Heavenly Sword, Call of Duty, Azteca, Golden Eye, Apache, Angry Birds, Final Fantasy, Tyris, Transformers (Prime), Luxor, God of War, Bejeweled Blitz.
Models exhibiting these pieces are reputed to have walked the longest runway to have been built for a Carnival mas premier. Using innovative design, YUMA's principals ensured that everyone got a bird's eye view of the creations in what they called a 360 degree experience.
Vibes galore
"The vibes can't done" was an appropriate phrase to describe the aura at Press Play. As it turns out, the theme was also the code phrase for extreme fun at the drinks inclusive event. The event started on a high and as fate would have it, the energy increased as the night wore on. A big thumbs up was in order for the YUMA event management team. They made clever use of the space allotted and comfortably facilitated the throngs that turned out to behold the beauty in the mas and party heartily until morning.
