New Tri­ni artistes and en­ter­tain­ers seem to be pop­ping up from all cor­ners of the coun­try and that's a won­der­ful thing.It means that lo­cal­ly there are a num­ber of peo­ple whose tal­ents dri­ve them, em­pow­er them and bring them joy. When they step out in­to the spot­light, it sim­ply means they want to share that joy with the rest of the world.Shade "Mis­chief" Thomas is a 26-year-old en­ter­tain­er from Tacarigua, Trinidad. He loved mu­sic since child­hood and even while en­rolled at the El Do­ra­do Sec­ondary school, Shade told us, "I used to sing all those Bee­nie Man songs word for word."I re­al­ly liked Bee­nie Man." His style is un­mis­tak­able. In fact, Shade just can't be missed. In any crowd, he stands out and this he ad­mits comes as a re­sult of his love for the Ja­maican cul­ture, mu­sic and style.Youth cou­pled with a love for dance­hall, has made this ris­ing artiste an em­braced new­com­er on the scene by many young mu­sic lovers.

He's on­ly been singing pro­fes­sion­al­ly for the past two years but with­in that time, Shade's worked with lo­cal pro­duc­ers, Mr Spine of Holy­House Pro­duc­tions, Dar­ryl Brax­ton, Stu­dio 53 and most re­cent­ly, he's teamed up new­com­er Whiz Kid of Mal­abar, Ari­ma."When I left school, I de­cid­ed to start writ­ing my own songs. I de­cid­ed to take it se­ri­ous­ly," he ex­plained. Now, mu­sic is his full time ca­reer of choice and for that rea­son, Shade's not giv­ing up on his dream of break­ing through in a big way.

Face­book scene­leads to sin­gle

This past June and Ju­ly, two tracks were record­ed and re­leased by the young singer. He record­ed Face­book and Sum­mer­time and pushed them out via on­line medi­ums and at ra­dio sta­tions across the is­land.He told us that so far, he's heard Face­book play­ing on the ra­dio, and on­line, he's been get­ting a lot of love with Sum­mer­time. In ex­plain­ing the con­cepts be­hind both tracks, Shade said, "Face­book is a sto­ry about a par­tic­u­lar sce­nario with a girl I met on Face­book. It was writ­ten two years ago, but I on­ly record­ed and re­leased it this year.He said Sum­mer­time was self-ex­plana­to­ry. "Sum­mer­time is all about the things we en­joy in the sum­mer-go­ing to the beach, pool par­ties and oth­er things."Shade col­lab­o­rat­ed with new fe­male artiste Nik­ki B who hails from San Juan, on the sec­ond track and ex­plained that he's been work­ing with her, writ­ing songs for her and as­sist­ing in her growth.
